Browser issues.
The following items may help you to resolve any issues you may have when you access our site. Please try the proposed solutions in the order that they are presented.
If you try these proposed solutions and still can't use the site, Please report problems here.
1. This site requires JavaScript and cookies. If you experience problems, you may need to enable one or both.
Cause of the problem:
Click on either item above for a complete description and for tips on enabling these features on your browser.
2. "Stale" data.
Cause of the problem:
Your browser keeps a copy of things that you have seen recently in a file on your hard drive (this is called a "disk cache" or just "cache"). That way, if you want to see it again (for example, by re-visiting a page), it can be accessed directly from your disk (which is fast) instead of re-loaded from the internet (which can be s-l-o-w, especially if you access the internet via a dial-up connection). In general, this is GOOD, and results in a much faster web viewing experience.
The problem arises when we change the item on our web site, but your browser still accesses the "old" copy from your disk cache. This can result in several problems, causing it to appear that the web site is "broken" (for example, if we change a link on a page and remove the "old" target of that "old" link, your browser accesses the "old" page which still has the "old" link from your cache, and your browser attempts to access the "old" removed target when you click on that "old" link. Since that "old" target has been removed, you get a "404 not found" error), or causing you to see data that is no longer valid (maybe we changed prices, or have offered specials, or added fabrics, etc., that you won't see, since you are still viewing the "old" page from your cache).
Solution:
To eliminate this problem, you should periodically "flush" all of the accumulated "stuff" from your disk cache. To do this click here for Internet Explorer and AOL, or here for Netscape. Other browsers will be similar to one of these, but I can't list them all here. If you are using a different browser, please look at either of the links above, and experiment with your browser and attempt to accomplish the same result.
3. Security concerns - "Trusted Sites".
Cause of the problem:
Due to the ever increasing threat of malicious web traffic, Microsoft has added new security features to both Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6 that may affect your use of this web site (only if you have these components).
If you can not view the fabrics, or if you can not place an online order, please read the following for directions that will allow you to access all functions of our web site once again. Otherwise, use your browser back arrow to return to the home page and report your problem to us.
What exactly IS the problem?
Our site builds web pages dynamically in order to customize the information that you view. For example, we allow you to limit the number of fabrics that you need to view by selecting a category (for example, "sports"). We then dynamically build pages of only "sports" related fabrics for you to view - you don't have to wade through other categories of fabrics to find the particular fabrics that you are looking for (of course, you can select the "ALL" category and view all of our fabrics if you wish to).
In order to create these "dynamic" pages, we use JavaScript and cookies. Either (or both) of these features may be blocked by the new Internet Explorer and/or Windows XP security features.
Solution: (or How to access this site with Microsoft's new security procedures)
In order to allow these features to function again, you have basically 2 options:
Instructions to add us to your "trusted sites"
You can easily add us to the trusted sites list by following these steps:
1. Start Internet Explorer (or select a window where it is already running)
2. Click on the "Tools" menu at the top of the screen, and then click on the "Internet Options" menu item - the following dialog window should appear:

By default, the "General" tab (at the top of the window) is usually selected when this dialog first opens. In the above picture, we have already selected the "Security" tab, so your window will probably look slightly different. Select the "Security" tab on the top of your window as shown in the picture above, and your window should then look like this picture (possibly different color scheme, but that's fine).
3. Click on the "Trusted Sites" icon in the center of the window near the top of this dialog, as shown in the picture above. This will re-paint the "Sites" button so that you can click on it. Click on the "Sites" button now. A new dialog window will open that looks like this:

4. Un-check the "Require server verification (https:)" check box near the bottom of this dialog (as shown in the above picture), and type "linersbyvaughn.com" (without the quotes) in the "Add this Web site to the zone" field, as shown above. Then click the "Add" button to the right of what you just typed in.
Then type "https://host.securelook.com" (without the quotes) into the same "Add this Web.." window, and click the "Add" button again. Your window should now look like this (again, possibly different colors):

Click the "OK" button at the bottom of this dialog, and the "OK" button at bottom of previous dialog, and try to access the catalog again. If you still have problems, please use the "Contact Us" item from the home page, and describe what you did, and what the problem is, and we'll try to solve the problem for you.
NOTE: the steps above have added our catalog site (linersbyvaughn.com) and our secure ordering site (host.securelook.com) to your list of "trusted sites". Close Internet Explorer and restart it. You should now be able to view our catalog and place orders electronically.
